The Danse Society, one of the founder members of the Post punk & Goth movement in the 80s are back with a brand new album, their first since 1986!
25 years after their disappearance, the Godfathers of Goth are still producing dark, atmospheric and powerful music.
Former members Paul Nash, David Whitaker and Paul Gilmartin met up for the first time in years in late 2009 and after much detective work they managed to track Steve Rawlings down in L.A., and the initial positive response was greeted very enthusiastically but then just as mysteriously as he appeared he then disappeared again and the band lost track of him.
Just as the boys were going to release 13 great instrumental tracks their path was mysteriously crossed by Maethelyiah, ex leadsinger with Blooding Mask. A sample of the tracks were sent down south and she was asked to see what she could do.
The boys were knocked out by the results and she was asked to contribute to all 13 tracks.
Working in secret till May this year the final fourishes were added for the final mixing of the album in July 2011, with Maethelyiah now a permanent member of the band.

Stunning vocals as well as looks now compliment the bands always original dark and powerful sound, The Danse Society have never fitted into any one category, standing out from other bands of the era like Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus and Southern Death Cult, their infuences range far and wide and produce their own trademark sound.
This has not been lost on the new album 'Change of Skin' but rather enhanced with the addition of female vocals. Refusing as always to follow convention and go down the 'touring the old songs' route The Danse Society have produced 13 brand new unique tracks in a beautiful fold-out CD pack.
